To be assessed, one must have an assignment for an assessable match and request an assessment for that match. Referees are responsible for arranging the correct type of match. The complete requirements are in the Referee Administrative Handbook although the minimum is an affiliated match at U17 or higher (90 minutes) employing the Diagonal System of Control.
Work with your assignor on finding the right match. Even if you request the right level of match, if the match is not competitive, it can not be used for an assessment. You don't want 90 minutes of a 10-0 match with one foul only to have the match rated as not assessable. There are no guarantees that any assignment won't be non-competitve but if you let your assignor know why you're requesting the match they will do their best to assist you.
One the assignment has been accepted, the referee must schedule an assessment through the State’s Assessment Request link.
The referee will need their Profile User-ID and Password to log into the system. You will be prompted to enter information about the upcoming match including teams, location, game date and time, level of competition and game fee.
Upon submission of game information, the user will be prompted to pay. Although one has a choice of check, we strongly recommend paying by credit card. The fee for an assessment is the game fee or a minimum of $45, whichever is greater.
Submission of an assessment request will go to the Area Director of Assessment. For the North it is Chuck Watts. He will then make confirmation contact with you. If follow up is required you may also contact him at chuck22193@verizon.net.
